How to improve productivity?

Here are some of our top tips to improve productivity!

Everyone has been at a point in their life where they stop at think if what they are doing is really making a difference to their life -whether it is helping them achieve their end goal, whatever that may be.

A few things to keep in mind first of all is that it is okay to feel like you are not achieving as much as you should be. Good day and bad days are normal! You will feel like some days have been much more productive than others and that is okay.

It is important to remember that everyone is different – everyone’s perception of what is productive is different. For example, going through two lectures a day can be seen as being productive for one individual but unproductive for someone else. It is therefore important to go at your own pace and setting your own goals is very important!

Our top tip is to set REALISTIC goals – we often find ourselves being too optimistic in what we can achieve in a day and this can lead to disappointment when those goals are not met and therefore decrease motivation. It can be helpful to break down your goals into what you need to achieve in the day and additional goals/ tasks that you can start on if you have spare time!

Another tip is to structure your time – alot of people make timetables but this does not work for everyone. Some people are more productive and work better at night and others prefer getting up early and completing their tasks for the day. The most important aspect is to omit distractions when you are in productive mode – if these means locking your phone away then so be it!

Remember to take frequent breaks- if you are studying for several hours straight it can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking you are being productive when really your brain is in overdrive and not taking in as much as it can be!

Good luck and remember every day is a new day! Be kind to yourself 🙂
